Competitions really are a great way of gaining experience taking a wide range of subjects and now that entries can be made online there's none of the hassle we used to have when you had to mail prints or slides for submission.

Check out the news feed across the page or click here to see what is currently running.

STUFF TO BORROW
We have several clip on lights, backgrounds and a small light tent available for members who regularly attend meetings to borrow free of charge.  For details, PM Wyndham by following the link to Private Messaging below.

Welcome to the...

Welcome to the Chiang Mai Photography Group. We meet on Wednesdays at 7.00pm every fortnight in Tuskers Bar and all those with an interest in photography, be it film or digital are warmly invited.

The Chiang Mai Photographic Group aims to further all aspects of the picture taking abilities of its members through the sharing of skills and mutual support in an informal, inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere.

CMPG is run solely for the benefit of its members and a fee of 40bht per person is collected at each meeting to help defray expenses. Meetings last two hours after which we encourage you to stay for a while and chat with other members over a drink in the bar. We can't cover everything in the formal bit and this is a good time to explore interests you share with other photographers.

You can find details of the current photo assignment at the lower left of this page.

News: Digital Photography Review (dpreview.com)

New 5D to eclipse competition?
(Fri, 05 Sep 2008 09:39:00 GMT)

Canon has just added a mysterious teaser to its US website. The page shows a silhouette of a camera with the words 'Destined Evolution.' We have no specific information but it doesn't require any profound market insight to predict an EOS 5D replacement is coming.
